Norwegian Seafarer Health Certificate

Cost: £80 for initial appointment and £50 for any required follow-up.

The Sjøfartsdirektoratet (Maritime Affairs) Norwegian Maritime Authority requires that employees are medically fit for service on board ship and do not pose a risk to others or to the safe operation of the vessel. The regulations require that anyone working on a Norwegian ship should have a valid Health Certificate (unless only working on board only while the ship is in port or only carrying out inspections).

There are some exemptions to these regulations, based on the type, size and purpose of the vessel. If you are unsure whether you require a Health Certificate please contact the Sjøfartsdirektoratet (Maritime Affairs) Norwegian Maritime Authority on +47 52 74 50 00.

Dr Scott-Brown has been accredited as a Seamen’s Doctor by the Norwegian Government and is able to perform the medicals required to issue Health Certificates.

Please note we cannot perform this medical at John Pounds Surgery. If you would like to book in for this medical please call our sister practice Lake Road Practice  on 02392 009 117 to discuss your requirements.
